Jang Shin Young has spoken out regarding the infidelity allegations against her husband, Kang Kyung Joon.
The actress posted a lengthy message on her Instagram on August 19th. She began by saying, “I apologize to everyone who has loved and cared for our family.” She added, “I apologize to those who have been hurt by this incident. I am so sorry.”

She reflected on the difficult time she and her family have been through, saying, “Time seemed to stand still as we went through dark days. The hardest part must have been for our children.” She also expressed her sorrow for the shock and pain her children must have experienced. “I’ve caused them emotional pain. I feel infinitely sorry as a parent for making them go through something they shouldn’t have.”
She announced that they have decided to stay together as a family after much discussion. Jang Shin Young shared, “We’ve gone through a painful time, but we’ve decided to live as a family for the sake of our children.” She continued, “I know this is a sensitive topic, but I ask that you refrain from excessive criticism of my husband. I’m worried that our children might see these comments. I hope you can understand.”
Finally, Jang Shin Young expressed her gratitude for the support she has received. She wrote, “Many people have sent me messages of comfort and encouragement. Your kind words have helped me to get back on my feet. Thank you.”
Kang Kyung Joon was accused of infidelity in December of last year. He was entangled in allegations of having an affair with a married woman. The woman’s husband filed a lawsuit seeking damages. Kang Kyung Joon accepted the plaintiff’s claim of 50 million won ($37,522), stating in a statement, “I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s my responsibility to accept this consequence.”
Kang Kyung Joon married Jang Shin Young in 2018. He left the KBS-2TV show The Return of Superman after these allegations surfaced.
