Girls’ Generation’s Yuri and TV personality Dex are making headlines for their undeniable chemistry.
On August 7th, Disney Plus released The Zone: Survival Mission Season 3, featuring returning members Yoo Jae Suk and Yuri, with newcomers Kim Dong Hyun and Dex joining the team. The show pits them against extreme challenges, from surviving endless AI attacks to paying off a home loan, in a series of relatable, high-stakes missions.
One scene, in particular, has caught the attention of viewers, where Dex shielded Yuri from falling debris by instinctively pulling her into his arms. Yuri, clearly flustered, lowered her hat to hide her blush and commented, “What’s with him? He’s awesome,” charming viewers with her candid reaction.
During the press conference on August 6th, the chemistry between Yuri and Dex was also a hot topic. Talking about her different attitude toward Kim Dong Hyun and Dex, Yuri explained, “It wasn’t intentional at all. It just happened naturally, which surprised me too. Dex was always there to help and protect me, while the other two were busy running away.” Dex, in his usual playful manner, added, “It oddly felt like I was filming Single’s Inferno 2 again.”
Their dynamic was also highlighted in Yoo Jae Suk’s web variety show Pinggyego. In the episode released on August 3rd, Yuri, Kim Dong Hyun, and Dex appeared as guests. Yoo Jae Suk teased Yuri, saying, “Yuri’s most frequent comments to Bong (Kim Dong Hyun) are ‘What’s wrong with you?’ and ‘Why doesn’t he get it?’ Then she’d always call out, ‘Dex!’ afterward.”
The chemistry between Yuri and Dex was on full display, with Dex showing his usual sweetness by brushing something off Yuri’s shoulder, to which she shyly admitted, “It’s still a bit awkward.” Dex’s flirtatious yet charming gestures, which even had Yuri blushing, have viewers feeling the love vicariously.
