The couple first made headlines on July 22nd when a source close to Hwang Jung Eum revealed that they had grown close while supporting each other through difficult times. The relationship reportedly progressed gradually, but the growing public attention quickly put a strain on their budding romance. Edaily, the same media outlet that first reported their romance, announced today that the two stars decided to part ways and chose to remain good friends.
Hwang Jung Eum debuted in 2002 as a member of the girl group Sugar and transitioned into acting, actively appearing in MBC’s High Kick Through the Roof, SBS’s Giant, and MBC’s Kill Me, Heal Me. Recently, she appeared in SBS’s The Escape of the Seven and The Return of the Seven.
Basketball player Kim Jong Kyu began his professional career with Changwon LG in 2013. He transferred to DB in 2019, and during the last season, he averaged 11.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game, leading his team to first place in the regular league. He also played as a national team member for 14 years, starting from 2011.
