Upcoming drama “The Tyrant” has shared a behind-the-scenes video!
“The Tyrant” is a chase action drama that unfolds after the final sample from a project called the “Tyrant Program” disappears due to a delivery mishap. This sets off a chain of pursuits involving individuals with different motives, each competing to secure the sample. “The Tyrant” is director Park Hoon Jung’s first drama series and will star Cha Seung Won, Kim Seon Ho, and Kim Kang Woo, all of whom have previously collaborated with him on other projects.
The newly released video heightens viewers’ anticipation by suggesting that “The Tyrant” will be similar to but even more intense than director Park Hoon Jung’s “The Witch” film series, which is known for its intense action scenes and unique characters. Cinematographer Kim Young Ho, who also worked on “The Witch,” describes the series as “more powerful and intense.” Stunt director Kim Jung Min, who has worked with director Park Hoon Jung on several projects, reveals that “there are more unique and interesting characters [in this series] than there were in ‘The Witch.’” Actor Cha Seung Won also mentions that “The Tyrant” introduces new, unique, and intriguing elements that surpass those in “The Witch,” while Kim Seon Ho states that fans of “The Witch” will undoubtedly love “The Tyrant.”
The video also showcases the actors’ perfect synchronization with their respective roles. Cha Seung Won, who plays Im Sang, a former agent tasked with eliminating any obstacles to the “Tyrant Program,” skillfully portrays his character’s extreme duality and delivers intense action scenes with a shotgun. Kim Seon Ho, who plays Director Choi, an elite agent determined to protect the “Tyrant Program,” impresses with his subtle and emotionally charged performance, raising expectations for his acting transformation.
Additionally, the video highlights Kim Kang Woo in his villainous role as Paul, a foreign intelligence agent dispatched to steal the “Tyrant Program,” and Jo Yoon Soo’s intense action scenes as Ja Kyung, a technician hired to steal the “Tyrant Program.” The video also provides a glimpse into the extensive efforts of the production team in creating the action scenes.
“The Tyrant” will premiere on August 14. In the meantime, watch the new behind-the-scenes video below!
