MBC’s upcoming drama “Black Out” has unveiled a new poster of its four leads!
Adapted from the best-selling German mystery novel “Snow White Must Die,” “Black Out” is a crime thriller starring Byun Yo Han as a young man accused of murder in a mysterious case where no corpses were found. 11 years later, he embarks on a journey to uncover the truth behind that fateful day.
Byun Yo Han will star as Go Jung Woo, who has just completed a 10-year prison sentence for the murders of two of his classmates. Because Go Jung Woo has no memories of the night in question, he doesn’t remember killing his classmates, but he also doesn’t remember not killing them—leading him to set off on a dangerous quest to figure out what really happened.
When Go Jung Woo returns to his hometown after being released from prison, no one is happy to see him—and that includes Noh Sang Chul (Go Joon), a detective who has just been transferred to the town as part of a demotion. For reasons not readily apparent, Noh Sang Chul is full of hatred for criminals, and so he winds up clashing with the convicted Go Jung Woo at every turn.
Go Bo Gyeol will star in the drama as Choi Na Gyeom, who has always harbored an unrequited love for Go Jung Woo and devotedly supported him throughout his time in prison. Although the two childhood friends grew up together, their lives diverged in entirely different directions after the mysterious murders from 11 years ago: while Go Jung Woo’s life fell apart as he went to prison for murder, Choi Na Gyeom became an A-list actress beloved by the entire nation.
However, despite this drastic change in their circumstances, Choi Na Gyeom still dreams of a happy life with Go Jung Woo after his release from prison, even coming up with plans for him to move to Seoul so they can be together.
Finally, Kim Bo Ra will play the role of Ha Seol, a newcomer to Go Jung Woo’s hometown. Ha Seol is surprised and intrigued when she learns that one of her co-workers at the restaurant where she works part-time has a son who is a convicted murderer. Driven by curiosity, she starts to investigate the murders from 11 years ago—and as an outsider, her objective point of view winds up helping Go Jung Woo in his own search for the truth.
“Black Out” will premiere on August 16 at 9:50 p.m. KST.
