Despite winning a lawsuit, Song Ji Hyo has yet to receive approximately 1 billion KRW (approx. 740,000 USD) in unpaid advertising model fees from her former agency.
According to a News1 report on the 31st, Song Ji Hyo won the lawsuit against her former agency in December last year, but seven months later, she still hasn’t received the 1 billion KRW owed to her. A representative for Song Ji Hyo stated, “We have received a payment order through civil litigation, but it has not been enforced yet.” They added that they will continue to pursue the matter through debt collection procedures to recover the advertising model fees from the former agency.
The former agency, UZUROCKS, and its representative, identified as A, refused to provide any statement regarding the issue.
In November of last year, the court ruled in favor of Song Ji Hyo, ordering UZUROCKS to pay 984 million KRW (around 720,000 USD) in settlement money along with some delayed interest. The agency did not appeal the decision, making the verdict final by December.
Song Ji Hyo had signed an exclusive contract with UZUROCKS in October 2022 but terminated the contract in April last year due to the non-payment of settlement money. She filed a criminal complaint against the former CEO, A, for embezzlement and pursued a civil lawsuit for the unpaid fees.
Song Ji Hyo has since signed an exclusive contract with NEXUS E&M in October, marking a new chapter in her career.
