Season 2 of “Pachinko” has released an official trailer featuring BLACKPINK’s Rosé’s cover of “Viva La Vida”!
Based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Min Jin Lee, “Pachinko” is a multi-generational saga of war and peace, love and separation, and victory and judgment that spans Korea, Japan, and the United States. This season, actor Kim Sung Kyu will be joining Youn Yuh Jung, Lee Min Ho, and Kim Min Ha in the show’s star-studded cast.
Set in 1945 Osaka, the trailer showcases the reunion of Sunja (Kim Min Ha) and Hansu (Lee Min Ho) and introduces new cast members, including Kim Sung Kyu. This season, set against the backdrop of World War II, tells the story of a woman struggling to protect her family, even making dangerous choices. It also intersects with the story of Solomon (Jin Ha), who must start over with nothing in Tokyo in 1989, and the older Sunja (Youn Yuh Jung), who worries about her grandson.
Additionally, BLACKPINK’s Rosé’s reinterpretation of “Viva La Vida” is gaining attention. The song is featured not only in the trailer but also as the ending track for the final episode of “Pachinko” Season 2, providing a powerful and lasting conclusion to the series.
