NewJeans’ decision not to participate in the Grammy Museum’s HYBE exhibition has caused quite a stir. It was revealed that the organizers had offered NewJeans the most prominent spot in the exhibit.

According to an Xportsnews report on July 15th, the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles proposed to ADOR in March that “NewJeans would be given the central position in the exhibit,” but the group declined to participate. ADOR cited the group’s relatively small role in the HYBE exhibition as the reason for their decision.

An insider revealed that the organizers promised to showcase NewJeans’ related exhibits as the first thing visitors would see upon entering. HYBE also communicated this offer to ADOR, expressing a strong desire to include NewJeans in the exhibition.

Unfortunately, ADOR’s refusal means NewJeans will not be featured in the HYBE exhibition. This decision has led to widespread speculation among K-pop fans that the conflict between HYBE and ADOR’s CEO, Min Hee Jin, is the underlying cause.

This controversy is further fueled by NewJeans’ absence from the Weverse Con held last month. At the time, HYBE explained, “NewJeans could not attend due to scheduling conflicts with their overseas activities,” but other artists managed to attend despite their busy schedules. This has led to accusations that ADOR is being uncooperative with HYBE events.

The latest decision regarding the HYBE exhibition has only intensified these accusations, suggesting that Min Hee Jin’s uncooperative stance is a significant issue. HYBE commented on NewJeans’ absence, stating simply, “It was a label decision,” indicating that the decision was made independently by ADOR.

The “HYBE: We Believe In Music” exhibition, which runs from August 2nd to September 15th at the Grammy Museum, aims to explore the history of HYBE and its artists. The exhibition will feature artists such as Zico, BTS, SEVENTEEN, fromis_9, TXT, ENHYPEN, LE SSERAFIM, &TEAM, BOYNEXTDOOR, TWS, I-LAND, and KATSEYE, showcasing a total of 12 HYBE labels artists.
