Upcoming movie “The Land of Happiness” has unveiled a new trailer and posters!
“The Land of Happiness” tells the story of lawyer Jung In Hoo (Jo Jung Suk), who struggles to save Park Tae Joo (Lee Sun Gyun) from a life-or-death situation in the trial of the 1979 presidential assassination case. The movie is based on the real-life incident in which former President Park Chung Hee was assassinated on October 26, 1979.
The newly released posters capture three main characters: lawyer Jung In Hoo; Park Tae Joo, chief secretary to the head of the Korean Central Intelligence Agency; and Jeon Sang Doo, the head of the Joint Investigation Department (Yoo Jae Myung). Each is accompanied by the caption, “The worst political trial in Korea is about to begin.”
Jung In Hoo’s poster highlights his dedication to getting his client a fair trial, with the caption reading, “If it’s going to be like this, why bother holding a trial?” To depict his struggle, Jung In Hoo is seen in a moment of rage as he attempts to free himself from military police.
In another poster, Park Tae Joo is shown with a solemn and determined expression. The caption in the poster hints at his righteous and upstanding character, reading, “Are you telling me to betray the director to save myself?”
In contrast, Jeon Sang Doo is portrayed with an intense gaze, and his eyes are full of ambition. The caption emphasizes the ruthlessness of the powerful character, stating, “Whatever you do, he’s going to die.”
Meanwhile, the film’s second trailer opens with a provocative question: “If your first life was a practice run, so you could go back in time, what choice would you make?”
The video then depicts Jung In Hoo’s outrage at an unjust trial and his efforts to defend Park Tae Joo, who is embroiled in a presidential assassination case. It also shows Jeon Sang Doo manipulating the trial to his advantage, even eavesdropping on proceedings in real time.
