Disney Plus has released the teaser poster and trailer for its highly anticipated original series, The Tyrant.
Directed by Park Hoon Jung, The Tyrant follows the chaotic aftermath of a missing sample from the “Tyrant Program.” This action-packed thriller chronicles the pursuits and confrontations of various characters, each with their own motives for obtaining the elusive sample.
The newly released poster captures the intensity of Fixer Ja Kyung (Jo Yoon Su), who is tasked with stealing the “Tyrant Program” sample. Her piercing gaze and the mysterious substance emanating from her body instantly grab attention. The tagline, “The missing final sample, the madness begins,” hints at the extreme chases and rampant chaos that will ensue as everyone vies for control of the sample.
The trailer kicks off on a rainy night with an unexpected delivery mishap. The missing item is revealed to be the final sample of the “Tyrant Program,” a superhuman genetic drug. The characters who converge in the pursuit include the cleaner Im Sang (Cha Seung Won), who aims to eliminate obstacles related to the program; the architect Director Choi (Kim Seon Ho), who’s been secretly managing the program; the pursuer Paul (Kim Kang Woo), who aims to intercept the sample; and the fixer Ja Kyung, who is hired to steal it.
The trailer showcases their distinctive personalities and hints at the thrilling character dynamics. With the tagline “The madness begins,” it delivers a stunning display of high-octane action, fueling anticipation for the return of the “Park Hoon Jung Universe.”
The Tyrant will premiere exclusively on Disney Plus on August 14th, with all four episodes available for streaming.
