A lot of events happened over the weekend in Korea, but to beat the summer heat fans are citizens alike are heading to WATERBOMB to soak in the fun with water guns and their favorite singers live.
Every year, there is a breakthrough idol who becomes the talk of the internet either due to their revealing summer outfit or their insanely well-defined physique. This year, two idols stood at the most NU’EST member Baekho and Cignature’s Jeewon.
While various idols shared their lovely bathing suit photos and pre-performance shots online (see below for a collection of photos!) countless fancams and clips from Baekho and Jeewon’s performances are flooding Twitter and social media alike.
Jeewon mainly received attention not only for her whimsical outfit that sports an anime girl charm and flair but also her larger than life assets (yes, her chest). Many netizens posted videos of her online with comments such as “Her body is Korea’s top 0.01%,” “Thank you for this high res video,” “That outfit suddenly seems more erotic,” and “She is using her tactic.” Her moment in the spotlight is also being compared to Kwon Eun Bi’s boost in popularity after her WATERBOMB performance.
Baekho also pulled in the likes with his insanely worked out body. His tanned skin, nacho chip torso, and defined muscles drew compliments from men and women alike. Some comments included, “He deserves to show off that body” “I filmed the moment he took of his shirt,” “This is bringing aexy back” and even some negative comments criticizing gender roles appeared such as “If he shows off his body will he be called sl*tty too?” and “Men are also sexual harassed.”

Overall, the WATERBOMB festival is a time where many stars can show off their various talents and shine on stage. It may feel like a stunt or viewed as an exception to the unspoken K-Pop rules of idols being too sexual, however, WATERBOMB is overlooked due to the beachy summer concept itself. Despite this, many fans enjoy the show and love seeing their idols receive the recognition they attended.
With Seoul WATERBOMB starting last Friday to Sunday at Kintex in Goyang, Gyeonggi-do, the festival will continue in nine more locations including Jeju Island, Daegu, Busan, Incheon, Daejeon, Sokcho in Gangwon Province, Suwon in Gyeonggi-do and Yeosu, and lastly South Jeolla Province until the end of August.
