Changes will be coming to Mnet’s highly-anticipated survival program “Road to Kingdom“!
On June 26, Mnet revealed that “Road to Kingdom” is gearing up to air in the second half of the year.
First premiered in 2020, “Road to Kingdom” followed seven boy groups—PENTAGON, ONF, Golden Child, THE BOYZ, VERIVERY, ONEUS, and TO1—as they competed against each other in missions every week. The winning team from the show automatically earned the chance to compete on the subsequent show “Kingdom.”
The upcoming “Road to Kingdom” will undergo reorganization and major rebranding. Originally, “Road to Kingdom” acted as a prequel program to the follow-up show “Kingdom,” but going forward, “Road to Kingdom” plans to become an independent brand as part of Mnet’s “K-pop boy group rising project” that re-highlights boy groups.
Following the rebranding, “Road to Kingdom” will be broadcast under a new title befitting the changes. In addition to strengthening the reality elements, there will be changes to the benefits given to the winning team. The upcoming program will be helmed by director Joo Woo Ri of “Queendom.”
Earlier in May, it was reported that CRAVITY, xikers, THE NEW SIX, 8TURN, YOUNITE, ATBO, and TEMPEST will be joining the lineup. The reports regarding the lineup have yet to be confirmed.
Which groups are you hoping to see on the show? Stay tuned for more updates!
