Helmed by director Ahn Pan Seok of the hit drama “Something in the Rain,” tvN’s “The Midnight Romance in Hagwon” is a love story set against the backdrop of Daechi, a neighborhood known as the epicenter of private education in Korea due to its high concentration of hagwons (private educational institutions).
Spoilers
Previously on “The Midnight Romance in Hagwon,” Seo Hye Jin (Jung Ryeo Won) was reminded of the true essence of teaching by Pyo Sang Sub (Kim Song Il). As a result, she made a surprising move when Woo Seung Hee (Kim Jung Young) tried to threaten her with the teaching materials that she had poured her blood, sweat, and tears into for the past 10 years. Instead of being intimidated by Woo Seung Hee’s threats, she boldly handed a USB drive with the materials over to Choi Hyung Sun (Seo Jeong Yeon) with a smile, saying she could do with them as she pleased.
In the upcoming episode of the drama, Woo Seung Hee’s plotting and scheming will continue. Although her plans were initially foiled by both Pyo Sang Sub and Seo Hye Jin making choices she hadn’t anticipated, she doesn’t back down in the face of this early failure. In newly released stills from the next episode, Woo Seung Hee unexpectedly seeks out both Nam Chung Mi (So Ju Yeon) and Yoon Ji Seok (Jang In Sub), raising the question of why she wants to meet with them.
Meanwhile, another set of photos captures a heartbreaking encounter between Seo Hye Jin and Lee Joon Ho (Wi Ha Joon).
In what should be a romantic moment amidst falling snow late at night, the lovers instead get teary-eyed as they share an emotional conversation. Seo Hye Jin seems to battling complicated emotions as she stares up at the falling snow, and Lee Joon Ho looks as though he is on the verge of breaking down crying.
“Seo Hye Jin and Lee Joon Ho will face a new dilemma [in this episode],” said the drama’s production team. “What kind of hidden card will be played by Woo Seung Hee and Choi Hyung Sun, who are no easy opponents? And what sort of trouble will they cause for the Ho-Hye couple and Daechi Chase? Please stay tuned to find out.”
The next episode of “The Midnight Romance in Hagwon” will air on June 22 at 9:20 p.m. KST.
