Upcoming film “Escape” has shared a brand new poster and teaser!
“Escape” tells the story of the other side of the barbed-wire fence at the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) and depicts the fierce escape and pursuit of North Korean soldier Gyu Nam (Lee Je Hoon), who dreams of living a life with a future, and security team officer Hyun Sang (Koo Kyo Hwan), who must stop him. The film is helmed by Lee Jong Pil of “Samjin Company English Class” and “The Sound of a Flower.”
The newly released second poster depicts Gyu Nam trying to escape and Hyun Sang in hot pursuit, all in one frame. Gyu Nam’s determined look shows his strong desire to break free, while Hyun Sang’s cold gaze reveals his determination not to let his target slip away, creating a tense standoff. The torn appearance of the poster, with the two men facing off, hints at their inevitable clash and leaves viewers wondering about the outcome. The caption, “A race toward tomorrow, a pursuit for today,” heightens curiosity about the intense chase and pursuit action between the two characters with distinct objectives.
The second teaser, released alongside, starts with a tense moment: Hyun Sang asks, “Did you escape?” and Gyu Nam replies, “I wasn’t trying to escape; I was trying to catch the fugitive.” Their exchange, along with suspicious glances, overlaps with Gyu Nam secretly preparing to flee, hinting at their inevitable conflict and sparking curiosity.
As Gyu Nam sets off on the escape with his trusted junior soldier Dong Hyuk (Hong Sa Bin), akin to his brother, Hyun Sang’s furious demeanor marks the start of an intense pursuit. The scene offers a glimpse into the challenging escape awaiting Gyu Nam and Dong Hyuk as they navigate through dark forests and thick bushes, boldly charge into a minefield, and grapple in murky waters. Every moment of their risky journey unfolds with uncertainty, keeping viewers on edge about their chances of a successful escape.
Moreover, Hyun Sang’s persistent chase and the presence of North Korean soldiers add tension to the story, raising anticipation for the action-packed chase scenes. As Hyun Sang offers one last chance for Gyu Nam to return, contrasted with Gyu Nam’s resolute statement, “I’ll go my own way,” viewers are intrigued by the inevitable outcome and the choices each character will make.
