tvN’s “The Midnight Romance in Hagwon” has shared a new making-of video!
Helmed by director Ahn Pan Seok of the hit drama “Something in the Rain,” “The Midnight Romance in Hagwon” is a romance drama set against the backdrop of Daechi, a neighborhood known as the epicenter of private education in Korea due to its high concentration of hagwons (private educational institutions).
The newly released making-of video unveil the secrets behind the heart-fluttering kiss scenes in the last two episodes.
In the first scene, at Hye Jin’s (Jung Ryeo Won’s) apartment, Jun Ho (Wi Ha Joon) and Hye Jin share a kiss after Hye Jin wakes up the next day, recovering from a night of drinking. For this scene, Wi Ha Joon and Jung Ryeo Won meticulously prepare for their tender kiss. Wi Ha Joon plants a gentle kiss on Jung Ryeo Won’s forehead and cheek before moving to her lips. The initial take prompts laughter from Jung Ryeo Won, unsure of where to place her hand on Wi Ha Joon. Yet, her laughter adds genuine charm to the scene. The behind-the-scenes video reveals multiple attempts at the kiss scene, with both actors fully immersed in their roles, eliciting anticipation for more sweetness from the couple in future episodes.
The next kiss takes place in the car during their first date as Wi Ha Joon drops her off. Their initial attempt leans toward a playful kiss. However, at the director’s request, they adjust for a more subdued kiss, which they execute flawlessly despite their apparent shyness. Both actors demonstrate their professionalism during all the kiss scenes, regardless of the situation and location, resulting in great on-screen and off-screen chemistry.
