The upcoming film “Hijack 1971” has unveiled a new poster and teaser!
“Hijack 1971” will depict the extreme situation when an aircraft full of passengers gets hijacked in the airspace of Korea in 1971. The film stars Ha Jung Woo, Yeo Jin Goo, Sung Dong Il, and Chae Soo Bin.
The newly released poster captures the intense moment when hijacker Yong Dae (Yeo Jin Goo) points a gun at co-pilot Tae In (Ha Jung Woo). In the background, Captain Gyu Sik (Sung Dong Il) watches worriedly as blood drips from his forehead, while Ok Soon (Chae Soo Bin), the only flight attendant on the plane, looks terrified. Yong Dae’s cold, menacing gaze exudes a commanding presence while Tae In appears to be deeply contemplating his next move to ensure the passengers’ safety.
The tagline “A passenger with a different destination has boarded the plane” hints at the conflicting goals: Yong Dae wants to head to North Korea, while the crew is trying to protect the passengers.
The accompanying trailer further immerses viewers in the high-stakes atmosphere both inside and outside the plane. It starts with scenes of a bustling Sokcho Airport in 1971, capturing an era when passengers hurried to secure seats on a first-come, first-served basis as there was no assigned seating.
The peaceful flight quickly descends into chaos as Yong Dae’s homemade bomb disrupts the calm. He then issues a chilling command to divert the plane to North Korea while Tae In grapples with the control stick, trying to protect the passengers. The tension escalates with fighter jets pursuing the plane as it veers off course, adding a thrilling element to the narrative.
The phrase, “Everyone on this flight is putting their lives on the line,” underscores the desperate efforts of each character to survive, intensifying curiosity about the plane’s ultimate fate.
