Spoilers
On the previous episode of the drama, Lee Geon (EXO’s Suho) prepared to return to the palace with the royal seal. After hearing that the court lady who had poisoned his father, King Hae Jong (Jeon Jin Oh), was still alive, Lee Geon came up with the idea to enlist the help of one of the villains, Left State Councillor Yoon Yi Gyeom (Cha Kwang Soo), in order to find the court lady.
The newly released stills depict Prince Lee Geon, who suffered hardships after being falsely accused of treason, finally reuniting with his sick father after rushing to the palace to see him. His heart aches upon seeing his father lying still, as if he were dead, with a pale and sickly-looking face. Lee Geon makes a deep bow to his father while attempting to suppress his emotions.
Lee Geon then approaches King Hae Jong, kneels down, and takes his hand to express how much he misses him. Eventually, he tears up at the sight of Hae Jong’s frail appearance, and he makes his father a promise with tears in his eyes. Viewers will have to wait to find out what promise Lee Geon makes to the king.
According to the production team, Suho’s detailed emotional performance in the “tearful bow” scene added to the quality of the drama. Suho reread the script several times over in order to perfectly capture Lee Geon’s emotions, and he added tension to the scene by gradually tearing up.
The drama’s production company commented, “Suho’s heavy emotional acting will captivate the hearts of viewers. This week’s episodes will deliver extreme suspense with even greater intensity in both the plot and emotions. Please give [our drama] lots of interest.”
The next episode of “Missing Crown Prince” will air on May 18 at 10 p.m. KST.
