The final shooting of the addictive drama Queen of Tears has wrapped up, leaving lead actors Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won emotional as they bid farewell to their characters and the show.
During the closing moments captured on video, Kim Soo Hyun was nostalgic, remarking, “It feels like we just started shooting yesterday. My first scene was…,” he paused, turning to Kim Ji Won, who reminded him, “April last year.” This exchange highlighted they’ve been working on the project for over a year already.
After the final scene, the cast shared hugs and applause, celebrating the conclusion of their long-running project. The Queen of Tears team gifted each actor with an individual cake. Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won, who played the couple Baek Hyun Woo and Hong Hae In, exchanged final words of gratitude. Kim Soo Hyun confessed, “I wasn’t feeling it at first, but now I suddenly feel very sentimental,” as he shared a farewell hug with Kim Ji Won.
Kim Soo Hyun, having completed his scenes, expressed his deep connection to the project, “This is the first time I’ve been involved in a project this fully and for so long. It feels quite bittersweet and different from any other work. I’m grateful to have met such wonderful staff.”
Kim Ji Won also shared her thoughts on the completion of the 16-episode saga, “It’s hard to believe a year has passed; all four seasons were so full and enjoyable. We all, actors and staff alike, worked hard to bring an entertaining story to you. Hong Hae In is a very lovely and admirable character, and I hope she continues to receive your support and affection.”
Meanwhile, Queen of Tears set a new record for tvN dramas with its finale reaching an average national viewership of 24.9%, confirming its status as a highly successful series.
