“Chief Detective 1958” has unveiled new stills of the upcoming episode!
MBC’s “Chief Detective 1958” is the prequel to the classic Korean series “Chief Inspector,” which ran for 18 years from 1971 to 1989 and achieved an incredible peak of 70 percent ratings back in its heyday. While the original show was set in the 1970s and 1980s (present day at the time), “Chief Detective 1958” is set even earlier, in 1958. Lee Je Hoon plays a younger version of the titular chief detective Park Young Han, who was played by Choi Bool Am in the original series.
Spoilers
In the previous episodes of “Chief Detective 1958,” Park Young Han (Lee Je Hoon) successfully assembled a motley crew of four members and formed the squad now known as Unit 1. Their exceptional teamwork was further demonstrated when they successfully arrested a bank robber gang.
The newly released stills for the upcoming episode offer a glimpse into the next case for Unit 1: the puzzling disappearance of a five-month-old baby from the baby’s own home. The stills capture a mother’s anguish as she visits Jongnam Police Station to report her missing newborn, while the solemn expressions of Park Young Han and Kim Sang Soon (Lee Dong Hwi) underscore the seriousness of the situation.
As Park Young Han, Kim Sang Soon, and the rest of the Unit 1 squad set out to find the missing baby, their journey leads them to Angel House, an orphanage. Tensions escalate as the orphanage director Audrey, introduced in the previous episode’s cliffhanger, unveils her true nature. The detectives of Unit 1 cast wary gazes her way, sparking curiosity about her connection to the missing child case.
The production team commented, “Through one missing person report, the details of another case will unfold. Anticipate the dedicated investigations and heightened teamwork of Unit 1’s detectives, who are eager to protect the innocent children.”
The next episode of “Chief Detective 1958” airs on April 26 at 9:50 p.m. KST.
