tvN’s upcoming drama “Midnight Romance in Hagwon” has unveiled new character posters of its leads!
Helmed by director Ahn Pan Seok of the hit drama “Something in the Rain,” “Midnight Romance in Hagwon” is set against the backdrop of Daechi, a neighborhood known as the epicenter of private education in Korea due to its high concentration of hagwons (private educational institutions).
Jung Ryeo Won will star as Seo Hye Jin (Jung Ryeo Won), a hagwon instructor who tirelessly assists a cheeky student named Lee Joon Ho (Wi Ha Joon) in gaining admission to a prestigious university. 10 years later, Lee Joon Ho unexpectedly returns to the hagwon as a rookie instructor after resigning from a promising job at a large company. There, he is reunited with his unrequited first love Seo Hye Jin, for whom his feelings have never faded.
In the newly released posters, Lee Joon Ho and Seo Hye Jin find themselves alone in a hagwon classroom after hours, once all the students have left. As the two teachers lock eyes, Lee Joon Ho confesses in his poster’s caption, “Professor Seo Hye Jin, it’s always been you from the very beginning.”
Meanwhile, the usually strictly professional Seo Hye Jin finds herself swayed by the intensity of Lee Joon Ho’s pursuit. Her poster’s caption reads, “Professor Lee Joon Ho, you’re on my mind [these days].”
The “Midnight Romance in Hagwon” production team teased, “You can safely look forward to the romantic chemistry between Jung Ryeo Won and Wi Ha Joon. You’ll be able to fully feel the synergy between them as they capture Seo Hye Jin and Lee Joon Ho’s stories and emotions with just one look or one line of dialogue.”
They went on to add, “Please look forward to the performance of the two actors, who will portray this special relationship in fine detail.”
“Midnight Romance in Hagwon” will premiere on May 11 at 9:20 p.m. KST. In the meantime, check out teasers for the drama here!
