Han Ye Ri and Chae Won Bin have been confirmed to join Han Suk Kyu in MBC’s new drama “Such a Close Traitor” (working title)!
“Such a Close Traitor” is a new psychological thriller that depicts the dilemma faced by Korea’s top profiler Jang Tae Soo (Han Suk Kyu) as he discovers the secret of his daughter related to a murder case he is investigating.
The drama will not only mark Han Suk Kyu’s first return to an MBC drama after 29 years since starring in “Hotel” in 1995, but it will also mark Han Ye Ri’s return to the small screen after three years since starring in tvN’s mystery thriller “Hometown.”
Han Ye Ri will star as police officer Lee Eoh Jin in the Criminal Behavior Analysis team, which Jang Tae Soo is the team leader of. Lee Eoh Jin, who studied criminal psychology in the United Kingdom, always prioritizes facts over emotions and cases over people. Although she respects Jang Tae Soo as her role model, she feels suspicious that he seems to be hiding something.
Chae Won Bin will take on the role of Jang Tae Soo’s only daughter Jang Ha Bin. Jang Ha Bin appears to be an ordinary high school student on the outside, but like her father, she has an extraordinary ability to keenly observe and read people’s minds. Above all, Ha Bin is a character who is hiding a secret that will completely shake the life of her father Jang Tae Soo.
Han Ye Ri showcased her stable acting skills and diverse charm in the dramas “Six Flying Dragons,” “Hello, My Twenties!” and “My Unfamiliar Family” as well as the film “Champion.” In particular, she was recognized for her acting skills by winning the Best Actress Award at the 2021 Gold List Awards with “Minari,” which toured overseas film festivals.
Meanwhile, Chae Won Bin is a rising actress who impressed in the film “The Witch: Part 2. The Other One” and the Netflix series “Sweet Home 2.”
