JTBC’s upcoming drama “Frankly Speaking” has shared a sneak peek of Joo Jong Hyuk’s character!
“Frankly Speaking” is a new romantic comedy starring Go Kyung Pyo as Song Ki Baek, a rising news anchor who lives strictly by the rules and has worked hard to build up a clean image. However, Song Ki Baek’s life takes a (literally) shocking turn when he is electrocuted in an accident, leading him to develop a strange condition that prevents him from lying.
Joo Jong Hyuk portrays trot singer Kim Jung Heon. He debuted as an idol at the age of 20, but after facing huge failure within a year, he works in the broadcasting industry for nearly 10 years, working as an assistant, guest, reporter, and so on. One day, Kim Jung Heon participates in a trot audition program by chance and ranks No. 2, stealing the hearts of mothers across the country. After becoming successful as a trot singer, he works relentlessly for one goal, which is to reunite with his ex On Woo Ju (Kang Han Na) who has been working as a variety show writer for 12 years.
The newly released still image captures Kim Jung Heon as a popular trot singer. He showcases various charms with his neatly styled hair, well-fitted suit, and cheerful energy.
However, the sight of Kim Jung Heon at home when he is not working gives completely different vibes. Kim Jung Heon wears a loose T-shirt with a stretched out collar and enjoys a full pack of a yogurt beverage with messy hair.
The image below captures an encounter between Jung Heon and Woo Ju. Dressed in a tuxedo, Jung Heon’s eyes are fixed on Woo Ju who is standing in front of him. Not only is Jung Heon Woo Ju’s ex, but he is also Ki Baek’s former classmate, raising anticipation for the story between the three who are deeply entangled with one another.
“Frankly Speaking” is set to premiere on May 1 at 8:50 p.m. KST. Check out a teaser for the drama here!
