Known for their feathered wings and incredible beauty, angels can take many forms – including K-pop idols! These eight music videos take advantage of the angelic concept for some truly stunning visuals. From the classic, heavenly angel to the fallen angel, there are so many ways to make this concept incredible!
1. TXT – “Nap of a star”
Practically a mini movie in its own music video, “Nap of a star” by TXT is a creative masterpiece! The stop-motion style of filming is unique, and including Huening Kai as an angel is the cherry on top! His mechanical wings perfectly suit this style of film and get bonus points for being a cool creative choice. You don’t see wings like these every day!
2. ARTMS – “Virtual Angel”
As expected from a song with this title, “Virtual Angel” by ARTMS has some truly incredible angelic visuals both on the side of the heavenly angel and the fallen angel. With interpretations from the classic white feathered wings and a hand-drawn pair of “wings” that give a chilling vibe, this music video is everything angelic.
3. ENHYPEN – “Sacrifice (Eat Me Up)”
ENHYPEN’s “Sacrifice (Eat Me Up)” not only includes angel wings, an angel pendant, and visuals that seem like they were sent straight from the heavens themselves – even the choreography is reminiscent of angel wings! No one knows how to commit to a concept like ENHYPEN, and the group makes this one look flawless.
4. NewJeans – “Cool With You”
With the talent of actress Jung Ho Yeon adding to this MV’s charm, the light and sweet vocals of “Cool With You” are accompanied by a music video that tells a story. The NewJeans members act as guardian angels, watching over Jung Ho Yeon’s character. Plus, the Renaissance angel painting really sends the message home!
5. CIX – “458”
Who said angel wings had to be white? The angelic imagery in CIX’s “458” includes wings that appear in all different shades of white, black, brown, gray – even the lighting in the background of some of the dance sequences also looks like angel wings! It suits the song well, with its contrasting electronic backtrack and light singing.
6. ITZY – “Boys Like You”
An all-English release from 2022, ITZY’s “Boys Like You” takes place at a Halloween house party. The members are all dressed up like angels, in contrast to their not-so-angelic actions. The combination of modern dress and makeup with the angel wings is a cool look, and the members look so beautiful in all-white that they might just be angels!
7. BTS – “Blood Sweat & Tears”
With the choral music at the beginning and the Renaissance-reminiscent setting throughout the entire thing, this MV is packed. The statue with the black wings ends the music video on a particularly ominous note, along with the scars on member V’s back that imply he could be an angel that lost his wings. There’s a lot of lore to explore!
8. LE SSERAFIM – “UNFORGIVEN”
With LE SSERAFIM member Kazuha playing the part of an angel whose wings are burning away, the “UNFORGIVEN” music video has angelic motifs interspersed throughout. From the white-feathered wings to the strips of fabric draped to look like wings, this MV is definitely creative with its representation of a fallen angel who isn’t looking for forgiveness.
