Episodes 14 and 15 of “Good Partner” have confirmed that new beginnings, fresh starts, and even a new couple or two are in store in the upcoming season finale.
Two people have unexpectedly left Daejeong Law Firm by their own choice, Attorney Jung Woo Jin (Kim Jun Han) is officially Daejeong’s CEO, and things are finally setting down in Cha Eun Kyung’s (Jang Nara’s) family life after her divorce.
If all your hopes and dreams are riding on the finale episode, you aren’t alone! Here are six things we’re eager to see play out—fingers crossed they all go well.
Warning: Spoilers ahead.
1. Eun Kyung’s new firm taking off
Eun Kyung was pretty much saved from being fired when Attorney Jung became the new CEO, but she ended up leaving the firm regardless to start her own, Spring Back Law Firm.
With Eun Kyung’s track record and years of experience as a divorce attorney, it looks like she and her new firm have a bright future ahead. With everything she’s been through, it’ll be really nice to see her succeed on her new path.
2. A new attorney is joining Daejeong
Bittersweet news: Attorney Jeon Eun Ho (P.O) has decided to move on from Daejeong Law Firm following in Eun Kyung’s footsteps. But don’t worry; he isn’t out of the picture. He’s scouted by Eun Kyung to work at her new practice.
This is great news for Eun Kyung too. Eun Ho has an amazing ability to close cases quickly and cleanly, and he’s also very personable, so he can help her make better connections with clients and promote her new firm.
But this also means a new attorney is on the way to Daejeong to replace him, and based on the finale preview, Han Yu Ri (Nam Ji Hyun) will be, at least partly, responsible for training this new employee. It’ll be interesting to see if this new attorney is an asset or a new problem.
3. Yu Ri and Eun Ho testing the waters as a couple
Yu Ri and Eun Ho have officially started dating, and it was a long time coming. For a good deal of time, the two were in a strictly just-friends relationship after their hilarious one-night stand and Eun Ho’s later confession, which Yu Ri rejected.
With Eun Ho leaving Daejeong, Yu Ri finally realizes her true feelings for Eun Ho. It might have taken a while for Yu Ri to find the courage to meet Eun Ho halfway, but it was well worth the wait.
The run and hug scene? Come on! It’s just too sweet.
4. One more couple getting together
This is more wishful thinking than something that will definitely happen, but still.
Now that Yu Ri and Eun Ho have gotten together, there may be a few watchers eager to see two more characters do the same by the end of the finale: Eun Kyung and Attorney Jung.
It looks like the consensus is pretty split on this topic. On one end, it could be best for Eun Kyung to take a longer break from relationships and continue to find herself, rebuild her career, and grow her connection with her daughter first, which has been going very well, by the way.
On the other hand, there’s a clear chemistry between Eun Kyung and Woo Jin, and having someone to rely on and talk with beyond friends and colleagues could be what Eun Kyung needs, or wants too. With her now working at a different office, it may be the change they need to take the next step. Whatever happens, hopefully, Woo Jin is at least able to come clean about his longtime feelings, which Yu Ri caught on to many episodes ago.
5. Eun Kyung’s ex-husband returning
Someone who has been off the radar for a while now is Eun Kyung’s infamous ex-husband Kim Ji Sang (Ji Seung Hyun), but it looks like he’ll be back in the finale episode.
Based on how their divorce ended, he is hopefully returning as a new and improved man, but only time will tell. Here’s hoping he is ready to grow and be a better father and co-parent.
6. The ex-CEO’s divorce case
It wouldn’t be a K-drama finale without some extra drama sprinkled in, and Daejeong’s ex-CEO’s upcoming divorce case is sure to deliver plenty. In the episode 15 cliffhanger, Oh Dae Gyu (Jung Jae Sung) is shown walking into Eun Kyung’s new firm and asking her to represent him.
This certainly comes as a surprise, as before Dae Gyu stepped down as CEO, he was determined to steer clients away from Eun Kyung and have her fired. This sudden change of heart must mean he’s desperate for an attorney he knows won’t fail, but whether he deserves it is another question.
