This year’s Dream Concert, which was originally scheduled to take place in Japan next weekend, has been postponed.
On July 30, the Dream Concert organizers announced that the “Dream Concert World in Japan 2024” had been postponed due to safety concerns stemming from the severe heat wave and recent surge in COVID-19 cases in Japan. The concert was originally scheduled to be held on August 10 and 11 at the Belluna Dome in Saitama.
“The Japanese government has been actively issuing heatstroke warnings, and the situation isn’t suitable for a large audience to gather in one place, so we decided to postpone the concert,” said the organizers.
“We are currently discussing when to hold the postponed concert with the Japanese producers,” they added.
According to the Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK), temperatures reached 41 degrees Celsius (105.8 degrees Fahrenheit) in parts of Japan on July 29.
Meanwhile, the original lineup of artists for Dream Concert World in Japan 2024 was previously confirmed to include NewJeans, DAY6, NCT WISH, SHINee’s Onew, TWS, KISS OF LIFE, tripleS, EPEX, BADVILLAIN, and NEXZ.
