S.E.S., FIN.K.L., and Baby V.O.X are a few of the most iconic first-gen girls groups. However, M.I.L.K. seems unfamiliar to K-pop fans, especially newer ones.
Who are they, and following their disbandment in 2003, where are the members now?
On December 17, 2001, SM Entertainment’s sister group BM Entertainment introduced M.I.L.K (Made in Lovely Kin) introducing four members: Seo Hyun Jin, Kim Bomi, Bae Yumi, and Park Hee Von.
During their debut, the members attracted attention for their visuals and skills, particularly when they released their first album, “With Freshness,” containing 12 tracks.
In 2002, they were also nominated for “Best New Group” at Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA).
However, despite commercial success, the members parted ways the following year after Bae Yumi left the group.
About two decades since their disbandment, where are the members now?
1. Bae Yumi
Also known as Jessica Bae, Yumi was born and raised in the United States. After dreaming of becoming an idol, she moved to Korea and made her initial appearance in Shinhwa’s “Wedding March” MV. Later on, she made her official debut as M.I.L.K.’s rapper.
Following the disbandment, Yumi pursued a solo career in entertainment, landing solo commercials in 2004 as well as music projects such as “Balba Balba.”

Among members, Bomi gained huge attention as the visual and vocalist of the group. She initially gained love from fans after appearance in Shinhwa’s MVs including “Yo,” and “All Your Dreams.”
Along with Yumi, Kim Bomi also pursued her acting career in 2006, and starred in dramas “Dangerous Love” and “Unforgettable Love.”
In 2010, reports say she will debut as a soloist, but it never happened.
Her latest activity was dated back in 2014 when she appeared in the movie, ” A Pharisee.”
3. Park Hee Von
Hee Von rose into popularity after debuting as the leader of M.I.L.K but after the disbandment, the idol turned actress focused on her acting career.
In 2006, she made her acting debut through MBC’s “Rainbow Romance.”
Since then, she has been appearing in numerous dramas and movies till now. Her most notable works include “Goblin” and “Happiness.”
In 2016, she shared good news after marrying Director Yoon Se Yeong.
4. Seo Hyun Jin
Although she was not the most popular member, main vocalist, main dancer and maknae Seo Hyun Jin now stands as one of the most iconic first-gen idols.
Despite disbandment, she continued her music career behind the scenes, by contributing songs to SMTown album compilations such as “Winter of Memories” in 2006.
In the same year, Hyun Jin debuted as an actress through “Hwang Jin Yi,” flaunting her acting potential.
Her popularity increased in 2016 after the hit drama “Another Miss Oh,” followed by “Dr. Romantic.”
