On October 31, tvN officially announced that Jo Jung Suk and Shin Se Kyung have been cast as the lead actors in its upcoming weekend drama “Sejak.” tvN further shared, “The new historical romance drama ‘Sejak’ is scheduled to air in January next year. The specific air date is yet to be confirmed.”
Written by Kim Sun Deok of tvN’s “The Crowned Clown,” “Sejak” draws the cruel love story between King Yi In, who is in danger of both royal and political power struggles, and Kang Hee Soo, who tries to seduce the King and get revenge, but gets seduced instead.
Notably, this marks Jo Jung Suk’s highly anticipated return to the small screen after approximately two years following his role in the 2021 drama “Hospital Playlist” Season 2. Currently, Jo Jung Suk is awaiting the premieres of his films “The Land of Happiness” (working title) and “Pilot” (literal title). Shin Se Kyung recently wrapped up her portrayal of Tan Ya in the tvN drama “Arthdal Chronicles 2,” which concluded on October 22.
