In K-pop’s slew of idols who are all making their own marks towards everyone’s hearts and minds, some of them make the most of their schedule by covering extra songs.

These songs doesn’t just include other K-pop artists’ tracks, but also popular song from international areas. Idols releasing song covers not only brings happiness to fans because of their new content, but also the chance to witness their creative freedom and artistic expression.

Here are 8 K-pop idols with impressive covers of English songs!

    1.    TWICE Chaeyoung – ‘Off My Face’ (original by Justin Bieber)

On October 22, 2021, TWICE Chaeyoung didn’t just grace fans’ ears with her soothing vocals with her cover of Justin Bieber’s “Off My Face,” but also let her inner fangirl out.

Apart from the relaxing cover Chaeyoung gave ONCEs, the music video also matched her serene vibe, making the cover an iconic fan favorite.

    2.    STAYC J – ‘Best Part’ (H.E.R.) & ‘Don’t Start Now’ (Dua Lipa)

STAYC’s adorable maknae J already showed SWITHs two sides in her English song covers. In her sweet take of H.E.R.’s “Best Part,” J managed to steal everyone’s hearts with her gentle, warm vocals, which perfectly suits the song’s timbre and range.

However, J didn’t hesitate to showcase duality on her cover of Dua Lipa’s “Don’t Start Now.” J is known for having a deep voice, meaning her low register contained the precise range and tone needed to deliver the song the best way possible. This just shows how J can slay every cover!

    3.    BTS – ‘Fix You’ (original by Coldplay)

BTS and Coldplay are known to be close with each other, especially when they collaborated with the song “My Universe” on September 21. However, before their collaboration happened, BTS had also performed the band’s hit song “Fix You” with their amazing vocals and serene performance.

    4.    NCT Jaehyun – ‘I Like Me Better’ (original by LAUV)

On August 22, 2019, NCT Jaehyun released a refreshing cover of LAUV’s “I Like Me Better,” during the year 2019, another era where pop music went on a rise.

    5.    EXO Chanyeol – ‘All of Me’ (original by John Legend)

Chanyeol’s live cover of John Legend’s “All of Me” impressed Eris in their seats, due to his on-the-spot instrumental and vocal skills perfect for such ballads.

    6.    Former MOMOLAND Nancy – ‘Part of Your World’ (original by Jodi Benson)

Nancy is known for having a bubbly and versatile voice, which became perfect to a song like “Part of Your World,” where one would have to effortlessly transition from melodic vocalizations to sing-talk segments.

    7.    TWICE Nayeon – ‘Santa Tell Me’ (original by Ariana Grande)

TWICE’s fake maknae Nayeon brought out the festive mood by offering a cheerful and jolly cover of Ariana Grande’s “Santa Tell Me.”

    8.    BLACKPINK Rosé – ‘The Only Exception’ (original by Paramore)

During her appearance at “Sea of Hope,” Rosé took out her guitar and performed a calming cover of Paramore’s “The Only Exception,” comforting audiences with her distinctive vocals.
